Steadicam at Terre Di Cinema 2014

We were lucky enough to hold a Bronze workshop during The Terre di Cinema Showcase this year, in the stunning setting of the Mountain-top town, Forza D’Agro, in Sicily.

This year attracted 33 film students from countries as diverse as Uruguay, Russia, Belarus, Israel, Brazil, England, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Italy.

Supported by the AIC, For two weeks they immersed themselves in practical film exercises, including post production and script supervision. Master classes from renowned world cinematographers such as Michele D’Attanasio AIC, Gergely Poharnok HSC, Tudor Mircea RSC, Olympia Mytilinaiou GSC and Jeanne Lapoirie AFC, and Garrett Brown ASC.

Screenings of these amazing cinematographers films were held at night under the stars in the open courtyard of its 16th Century Monastery setting.  

At the end of 14 days of workshops and master classes the participants produce short films.

During the first week, Flysteadicam took a group of 11 students and trained them in the art of Steadicam and its practical use within their prospective industry.

We then recorded the footage of a set piece Steadicam sequence, using professional actors, and with a large audience of professionals and tutors, which was then reviewed and discussed on the edit training suite of the school.
