We have the full run of the venue and grounds and will be the only event and guests on site for the week.

IMPORTANT – Arriving on Sunday 20th October 2024 by 15.30pm

We will be hosting an introductory afternoon to meet the instructors, discuss the format of the workshop and some initial exercises.

Please aim to arrive between 14.30 and 15.30pm to check into your room. Reception will be busy-ish with everyone arriving at once so if you can arrive a little earlier, it would be appreciated.

Dates and times:

  • Sunday 20th October 2024 from 1600 prompt through to approximately 1830pm for dinner, then an informal gathering in the evening.
  • Daily schedules to be updated nearer the time
  • Saturday, 26th October 2024 by checkout 11.00am. There is no instruction on 11/11

What is included:

  1. All instruction and use of equipment provided for the workshop.
  2. Use of all equipment; including Grip Day.
  3. Accomodation for one, in your own, on site room from Sunday 20/10 to checkout on Saturday 26/10 - Your name and contact detail will be passed to the venue for the purpose of securing your room.
  4. Full board including Breakfast, Working Lunch and Evening Dinner. Tea, Coffee and Water throughout the day.
  5. We will host a Gala End-of-Workshop Dinner on the Friday with presentation of certificates.
  6. Alcoholic Drinks will be available at the bar in the evening, but will not be included in the price. Please note our T&C's regarding no alcohol to be consumed during the daytime practical exercises the venue will be made aware and will not serve before 6pm.
  7. Free Parking is available at the venue.
  8. A Flysteadicam Notebook, Pen and T-Shirt and Steadicam Handbook and other merch will be provided as part of your course fee.

What is not included:

  1. Transport from any airport or station to the venue
  2. Purchases taken from the bar, or charged to your room including Alcoholic Drinks. A Credit Card maybe required by the venue for any charges to your room.
  3. If you decide to stay at the venue longer than the event dates, (6x nights from 20-26 October) please contact the hotel directly. We are not block booking any additional nights on your behalf, nor are we responsible for any incurred fees.

What to bring:

  1. Normal working clothes including suitable footwear (cross trainers or similar).
  2. Heeled shoes are not suitable and we will refuse you to participate until appropriate footwear is found.
  3. Toiletries including plenty of deodorant (!).
  4. Appropriate warm and wet weather attire and footwear as it will be early winter.
  5. Antibacterial hand gel would be appreciated.
  6. Notebooks, pens and pencils.

Workshop Etiquette

  1. Safety is paramount, it is vital to pay attention to instructors at all times, their word is the law and final.
  2. Equipment should be treated with respect as if it is your own at all times.
  3. Always be mindful and respectful of other students, you will need to work together for the maximum learning opportunities
  4. Do not allow your enthusiasm to photograph or record the event and interfere with other students participation or your own concentration.
  5. We do not allow any footage of the specific training techniques of our workshops to be shared on public accessible video content sites or social media.
  6. Drinking and drug taking during training sessions will not be tolerated and will result in exclusion from the workshop with no refund.
  7. Tiffen staff and instructors reserve the right to exclude any student at any point without refund.

If you are flying in for the event, London Heathrow or Birmingham International are the closest Airports, with the easiest links for public transport to the venue.

From M25/M40 by car

From M25 either direction, Take Junction 16 following signs towards The North, Oxford, Birmingham.

From North or South, travelling on the M40 take Junction 9 towards A34 Southbound/Oxford. Take the first junction from the A34 Soutbound signposted Weston On The Green. The hotel complex will be on your left.

Trains from London: Marylebone Station (Chiltern Line) to Bicester Village or Bicester North. If arriving by Eurostar, London St Pancras, Take the Metropolitan Line to Bakers Street, then change to the Bakerloo Line for Marylebone Station (1 Stop). Most trains will state end destination of Oxford or Birmingham.

From Birmingham & The North: (Chiltern Line) to Bicester North from Birmingham New Street Station.

From Birmingham Airport by Train: The station is situated under the airport. You will need to change once at Banbury Station, to get to Bicester North.

*You will need a taxi from either station to the venue, using the above address. Assume cost of around £18. Uber does not operate a service in Oxford or Bicester.

TFL London Underground (Tube): There is no approximate tube station near the venue.

From Heathrow by train:

Take the Heathrow Express to Central London then follow the above instructions to the nearest train station.

By Bus from London to Oxford:

You can use National Coach Services to Oxford Central Bus Station (Gloucester Green). There are buses to Bicester, as with a Train to Bicester Village Station. Follow the instructions above to get from the station to Bicester. The Buses do not stop near the venue.

Payment Price of the workshop includes UK VAT. A VAT Invoice can be supplied on request. Instalments will be available to book but the total must be paid in full within 30 days of the start of the event.

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: We require both payment, and this registration form to secure a placement on the Gold Workshop. A confirmation email will be sent to you following successful registration with more information about the course and venue. Operating Steadicam is a physical activity and you should have a reasonable amount of fitness to benefit the most from the workshop. For example, a Gold Workshop could involve carrying loads in excess of 25kg, and due to the architecture and age of the venue will include numerous staircases. There are no elevators within the main building. If you have any reason why this could potentially be an issue, you must tell us in advance to allow us to cater for your needs. Please let us know of any general mobility issues that could affect your participation. If you choose not to disclose any physical limitation that could affect your involvement we will assume you understand the programme and may not have appropriate equipment available. We do not require any specific or confidential medical conditions listing. Flysteadicam and Tiffen International Ltd, nor any of their staff or representatives can be held responsible for any loss or injury sustained during the course or resulting in any way from the course. Casual clothing is recommended, along with flat shoes/cross-trainers. Heeled footwear is not appropriate and we will refuse participation until resolved. Due to the time of the year, we recommend you pack appropriate wet-weather attire and footwear. Drinking and/or drugs are strictly prohibited during the workshop published times. Flysteadicam, Tiffen International Ltd and its nominated instructors reserve the right to refuse or expel attendees if the safety of the involved or other attendees is at risk. Receipt of either part or full payment for the course automatically denotes acceptance of this disclaimer. The completed booking form is mandatory for all attendees. Your supplied information is processed and held by Tiffen International Limited and/or other members of the Tiffen group of companies and persons acting on their behalf for the purposes of supplying goods and services, related accounts and records.
