WHY USE NATURAL ND FILTERS ?

Memorializing the groundbreaking achievements made by Tiffen’s founder, Nat Tiffen, the Tiffen NATural Neutral Density Filter line provides game changing improvements in neutral density filtration that result in a more consistently neutral image and longer performance for better ROI. This new technology blocks the full spectrum of light, including IR, UV and visible light, more than a traditional IRND filter, and with unmatched coloUr fidelity that results in a truly neutral image that you can count on again and again.

The Tiffen Water White NATural Full Spectrum IRND Filter is an ND filter with a 2x filter factor that provides exposure reduction. It creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters. The NATural ND formula will not affect the colour fidelity of the image.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, colour casts can occur when photoing darker subjects that require increased exposure times.

This Water White NATural Full Spectrum IRND Filter is constructed from Water White glass for increased clarity as well as colour fidelity. It is made using ColorCore® technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and measures 4mm thick.

  • Neutral Density filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
  • Providing a 1-stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
  • Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.
  • Constructed from Water White glass for increased optical clarity.
  • Non-coated.
  • Padded pouch included for storage and transport.
